This Specialization is designed for aspiring artists and beginners who want to develop their watercolor painting skills, from mastering basic materials and color mixing to creating expressive floral paintings and atmospheric landscapes. Through four courses led by Louise Stigell, Bianca Luztre, Lisa Lam, and Shanan Subhan, you’ll explore essential techniques, experiment with color and brushwork, and create original artwork featuring flowers, vases, lakes, mountains, and reflections.
Applied Learning Project
Learners will build a portfolio of original watercolor artwork by applying foundational painting skills, experimenting with five color-mixing techniques, and creating six mini floral paintings and four peaceful landscapes. Through hands-on projects, they’ll practice wet-on-wet painting, blending, glazing, lifting, layering, and brushwork to create vibrant colors, delicate flowers, charming vases, atmospheric skies, distant mountains, and realistic water reflections. Each project encourages experimentation and creative problem-solving while helping learners develop confidence and discover their own artistic style.
