How can managers turn data into meaningful insights without drawing conclusions the evidence cannot support?
In Finding Insights in Data, you’ll build foundational business data literacy by learning how to recognize patterns, summarize distributions, and interpret relationships. You’ll examine how categories, histograms, and outliers reveal useful information; how the mean, median, mode, and percentiles summarize data; and how scatter plots, correlation, hidden variables, and time series can help you understand relationships and change. You’ll also distinguish between descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, explore where machine learning fits in the analytics life cycle, and consider the continuing role of business judgment. By the end of the course, you’ll be better prepared to recognize meaningful patterns, select appropriate descriptive measures, evaluate relationships without overstating causal claims, and identify when advanced analytics can add value to business decisions.
